Tomorrow's Times: Vol. 2

Welcome to our second issue of Tomorrow's Times! Today we'll be discussing COVID-19 updates, BLM and the NBA, as well as something fun!

COVID-19 Report

The number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise with governor Greg Abbott's Open Texas Plan.

Over the past 7 days, there has been a staggering 51,120 recorded positive cases in Texas.

Keep those around you safe by staying home, and wearing masks in public.

BLM: Athletes Join the Movement

With the reopening of the NBA and WNBA, many players have opted to have phrases such as "Black Lives Matter", "Equality", and "Speak Up" on the backs of their jerseys.

NBA athletes having such a large gathering, and the message that they'll be able to share will be capitalized on with the excitement surrounding the return of the NBA.

"A lot of players had conversations about should we play or shouldn't we play and one of the biggest things about coming to play was how do we keep social justice issues at the forefront?", said NBA player Chris Paul, and certainly, addressing the issues is the first step to change.

History in the Making: Navy's First Black Female Tactical Air Pilot

Madeline Swegle will soon become the first black female tactical air pilot in the Navy after she receives her Wings of Gold.

Her accomplishment marks a major milestone in bringing diversity to the Navy will be an inspiration to many young, aspiring pilots!
